Child labour is still a problem for most developing countries. It is undeniable that in many cases, the industrial sector in developing countries requires a lot of workers in order to continue to make a profit. To make up for the shortage in manpower, the sector began exploiting children. Many reports and investigations mentioned that children are exploited as laborers, working in conditions that are far from decent and adequate. Below average salaries, poor working conditions, discriminatory treatment from other workers, working without safety gurantees, and even the threat of sexual violence for girls
Children, as our future, should be able to exercise their right to live healthy lives, to get decent education, happiness and other rights in accordance with the objectives of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The United Nations and UNICEF decides to take action, because this clearly can not be allowed to continue. We call upon the delegates to discuss this issue, to create a framework in an effort to protect children from the dangers of exploitation at work, that they should not suffer through at such a tender age.
